Unlike fast fashion, which relies on assembly lines, your ADKN garment is crafted by a single artisan or a small team in London, using focused skill to cut, construct and finish it.

Our pyjama sets represent 2.5 to 6 hours of labour to master fluid drapes and hand-turned piping.

We believe this time is essential for durability, ensuring your garment lasts years, not months.

Paid fairly, in-house
From initial design to marketing, production and aftercare, everything is handled in-house by our dedicated team in London, all paid fairly for their craft and expertise.

Materials developed for ADKN
Our materials are bespoke-developed for ADKN: always vegan, recycled or organic, ethically sourced, made to last and never mass-produced.

Less waste, start to finish
Each piece is produced in-house in small, zero-waste batches. Part of our collection is made by salvaging leftover materials and past designs or samples, carefully reworking and restoring them into unique, revived pieces. And we use recycled and recyclable packaging and carbon-conscious logistics, from studio to doorstep.

Women's piped pyjamas in silky bamboo jersey. Named after the Roman god of sleep, Somnus is our take on the classic piped pyjama, cut for her: a soft revere-collar shirt and full-length, straight-leg trousers in a jersey so fluid it feels closer to loungewear than to stiff cotton PJs. It's cool when you first slip it on, it moves when you do, and it doesn't twist round your legs in the night.

Made from 95% bamboo viscose and 5% elastane, cut and sewn in our London studio, in Pillar Box Red.

Description, fit & details

The shirt has a soft revere collar, a chest pocket and a full button front. Crisp white piping outlines the collar, placket, pocket and cuffs, then repeats at the trouser hems, so the set keeps a clean, tailored outline even after a lazy Sunday. The trousers have an elasticated waist with a contrast white drawstring and side pockets. In Pillar Box Red, sizes XS to XXL.

  • Feels silky, not slippery – 95% bamboo viscose jersey with a fluid drape and none of satin's slide

  • Moves with you – 5% elastane stretch, so knees and elbows don't bag
  • Stays put all night – elasticated waist with a contrast white drawstring, plus side pockets
  • Vegan and made in London – no animal-derived materials, cut and sewn in our London studio

Somnus has a relaxed fit: room through the bust and hips and a straight, easy leg, without looking oversized. Sizes run from XS to XXL. Take your usual size; if you're between sizes or like your pyjamas roomy, size up. See the size guide for full measurements, and remember UK exchanges are free.

Fabric & care

Somnus is made from 95% viscose made from bamboo and 5% elastane. Viscose is a fibre regenerated from plant cellulose, which is why it has that cool, almost silky handle and drapes rather than clings. It's breathable and absorbs moisture readily, so it suits hot sleepers and anyone who finds flannel too heavy or cotton jersey too warm. The touch of stretch helps knees and elbows hold their shape wash after wash.

Prefer a little more structure? Our red button-up pyjamas blend bamboo with 25% organic cotton for a slightly crisper feel. See them all in our women's bamboo pyjamas.

Composition: 95% viscose (from bamboo), 5% elastane
Machine wash at 30°C on a gentle cycle, inside out, with similar colours. Do not bleach. Do not tumble dry. Reshape while damp and line dry. Cool iron if needed. Skip fabric softener to keep the jersey breathable.

When will my order arrive?

Each piece shows its own timing just below the Add to bag button. Ready-to-wear pieces are dispatched within 1-2 working days, depending on your shipping option. Zero Waste and ADKNLux pieces are made for you in our London studio first, then sent with the delivery option you choose at checkout.

Free UK standard tracked delivery takes 4–7 working days after dispatch, with Priority (2–3 working days) and Express (1–2 working days) also available.

How does paying 50% now work?

For made-to-order pieces you can choose Standard Production: you pay 50% when you order and the remaining 50% when your piece is ready to ship. We will send you a payment link when the 2nd instalment is due - this payment needs to be completed for the order to ship. 

Is it ready to give as a gift?

Yes. Every ADKN order is shipped in an ADKN gift box, so it arrives ready to give. We also offer the option to include a printed gift card note.

We do not include any printed receipts or order spend details.

Can I return it?

We offer free UK returns within 28 days, started from your account. Personalised items cannot be returned.

How do I choose my size?

What if it ever needs mending?

Repairs are free for the first year with the ADKN Repair Promise. After that, we still repair pieces for a small fee depending on the work needed.

What happens when I no longer wear it?

Send it back through Re.ADKN, our circular fashion programme. We’ll repair, repurpose, donate or responsibly recycle it, and you’ll receive store credit towards something new.

Do you deliver outside the UK?

Yes. We deliver to Europe, North America and the rest of the world, with rates and timings shown at checkout.
