Majority of our materials used come from recycled plastic bottles (RPET) and Newlife. Given our green vision, we wanted to make sure we contribute to cleaning our planet of its overflowing waste. We firmly believe plastic containers need to be recycled and given a new life, simply to ensure longevity of humans and wildlife alike. The toxic chemicals that come from plastic landfills cause serious problems in fertility, poison wildlife and damage our environment, our waters and oceans. Plastic bottles do decompose on their own, but it takes hundreds of years, so why not revive them and give them a different purpose?
PET is a very recyclable material. Postconsumer plastic PET containers are cleaned, shredded, melted and spun into thread, which is then processed into various textiles. RPET requires significantly less energy, releases 65% less carbon and sulphur dioxide and requires 90% less water than normal polyester.
All our RPET materials are rescued from the waters of the world and are Global Recycle Standard Certified. Our Newlife polyester is sourced 100% from postconsumer plastic bottles, processed through a mechanical, not chemical, process and spun into yarn in Italy - all traceable. The material is 100% recycled, anti-UV, fast drying, antibacterial and hypoallergenic, certified by GRS (Global Recycle Standards by Textile Exchange) and Okeo Tex.
